Welcome Letter

Hi, I’m Rob, your acupuncturist and founder of ACUPUNCTURE FOR THE PEOPLE.

I am very passionate about Chinese Medicine and I enjoy sharing that passion with others. When I started practicing I found that people were excited about what I did until they found out what it cost. It seemed that most of the people that I knew couldn't afford healthcare much less alternative healthcare. It pains me to think that acupuncture began as a folk medicine available to everybody in the community, but now it’s often relegated to fancy spas and people wealthy enough to afford it.

This got me thinking about creative ways to make acupuncture more accessible. Before I became an acupuncturist I was involved in some interesting businesses. I worked at a collectively run recycling center, a community centered natural foods co-op, a car sharing organization, and a worker owned and operated massage cooperative. It is amazing what people can accomplish just by working together for a common goal. It is possible to have a healthy business, empower the workers and create a community that promotes positive social change.

That is what I had in mind when I created ACUPUNCTURE for the PEOPLE. I didn’t become an acupuncturist to make lots of money, I chose this path because I love the medicine and I want to help people to achieve optimum wellness. By practicing in a group setting I can have a rewarding business that cares for the health of the individual and benefits the greater community as well.

Thank you for joining me in creating this exciting new model of healthcare.

ROB SINGER L.Ac
Rob Singer received his Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle, WA. He has been practicing since 2003 and working in a group setting has provided lots of experience in treating a wide range of health concerns. He works with a variety of pain patterns, mental-emotional imbalances, allergy control and women’s health including PMS, menopause and pregnancy / birth.

WHITSITT GOODSON L.Ac
Whitsitt graduated from Bastyr University with a Master's in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2006. Since then he's practiced in two community acupuncture clinics in the Seattle area.
He's really excited to be here in Eugene and to be working at our clinic. He says it best - "I feel fortunate to have discovered community acupuncture at the start of my acupuncture career. I love treating lots of people. I love the atmosphere that builds up in a room while several people are all "cooking" together. The larger social justice
issues of community acupuncture are also important to me. I find a great deal of satisfaction in making health care accessible to everybody."

STEFANIE GREENLEAF L.Ac
Stefanie’s passion for medicine began as a pre-med student at the University of Vermont. Upon completion of her Bachelor’s, she focused her attention on the study of Eastern and Western herbal medicine, which led her on the path of acupuncture and Eastern modalities. She received her Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, NM, and completed clinical internships in Beijing at China Japan Friendship Hospital and at Beijing Traditional Medicine Training Center. From 2006-2008, she was an associate acupuncturist at East West Health Center in Greenwood Village, CO, a busy integrated clinic.

LINDSEY DORITY L.Ac
Lindsey chose to study Chinese Medicine at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in Portland, OR after receiving acupuncture herself over a 3-year period. She was drawn to specialize in this field after experiencing first hand how acupuncture and Chinese herbs can impact the patient’s whole body. As part of her training at OCOM, Lindsey completed medical externships at a diverse mix of clinics in Portland, Oregon. She provided acupuncture to homeless youth and low-income adults at Outside In, to older adults at the Hollywood Senior Center, to adults in an out patient drug and alcohol recovery clinic called Old Town Clinic, and at OCOM’s satellite clinic Hollywood Square Clinic. Lindsey is passionate about helping people attain an inner balance and ultimately achieve optimal health and she's excited to share this way of attaining health with you.
